Japan has unveiled a revolutionary “human washing machine” called Mirai Ningen Sentakuki, developed by Osaka-based company Science Co. This futuristic machine uses AI technology to clean and dry the human body in just 15 minutes. Here’s how it works
How it works
You step into a transparent pod and sit down.
1. Warm water fills the pod, and high-speed water jets emit microscopic bubbles that burst on contact with your skin, gently washing away dirt and impurities.
2. Advanced AI technology continuously tracks your vital signs, adjusting the water temperature and jet pressure for comfort.
3. Calming visuals are projected inside the pod to help you relax and unwind.
Features:
Personalized bathing experience tailored to your skin type and physical metrics
Advanced sensors monitoring heart rate, body temperature, and emotional state
Option to display soothing visuals and music to enhance relaxation
Purpose:
1 – Designed to make daily bathing easier and more efficient, especially for the elderly and people with mobility challenges
2 – Aims to provide a safe, comfortable, and hands-free bathing experience
Availability:
1. Currently being showcased at Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan, where 1,000 visitors will get to try it out
2. Plans for mass production and potential home version are underway, but pricing and release dates are yet to be announced
While this innovative machine seems exciting, concerns about user privacy and data security have been raised, given its reliance on AI to monitor personal biometric data .
